on uncanny valley s catalogue number 18 we finally welcome back credit 00 who is a man in charge of a decent collection of those dusty machines we all love. after the ice cold the living room life ep from 2012, his brand new record ice cream is easy to fall in love with. packed with tunes to suit various moods in life, it will be a faithful companion in dark basements or lonesome hours. ice cream starts deliciously with its sleazy sample choice. with the distinctive drum work it builds up to a true chicago-inspired dance floor banger. round n round hits hard with a harsh kick and cowbell action before it shows off slightly melancholic lead synths and a subtle but effective bass line and puts the emphasis on the fact that things go round and round. life s a dizzy affair. east of nowhere with that bass line-sound is credit 00 to the core. and with spooky synths he puts you to an east of nowhere-place where you will lose yourself in manic trance-like dancing. the record ends with red wine , a slightly different electronic love song sung by credit 00. the cover artwork was created by alexander dorn.
the untitled ep for homepark continues the london-based duos steady run of one ep per year since 2010. its the first time homepark have appeared on courtesy of balance recordings, sub-label to chez damiers balance imprint. first up is the deep, skipping and resonator fuelled ratios, matched in fathoms by standing, a dubby and rhode-driven joyride. fly away sees mr. fingers bassline inspirations take full effect next to lounge time piano playing, while m&js dub again traverses from deep house territory into a sphere of dubbier sven weisemann sounds

cult melbourne band primitive calculators cut a single in 1979 before splitting in the true punk fashion. a posthumous eponymous live album was released in 1981 (also reissued this spring on desire) and that was it. those two tracks are as fresh now as they were more than 30 years ago: in a style not dissimilar to the screamers or cabaret voltaire (circa nag nag nag), primitive calculators used raw monophonic synth lines with scratchy guitars and screaming vocals but the songs were standing on their own (as the unplugged version of do that dance that appears on the primitive calculators and friends 1979-82 could testify. the original 7 inch is now incredibly rare and hard to find and this reissue is its exact replica. first pressing limited to 500 copies.

decoy07 takes a deeper turn with the third act ep. miss sunshine (kms, monocline, tictactoe) has been working flawlessly in the studio for the past six years and this ep is no exception. third act is a heavy workout of riding bells and an old-school synth line which grooves its way through percussion builds and changes. intimidate is deeper and darker with a chugging groove and twisting effects growing into a more graceful melody. ground loop captures miss sunshines more ambivalent mood with a haunting groove that is perfect for those basement techno moments. markus suckut (figure, sckt)supplies the remix with his interpretation of ground loop, taking it more minimal and stripped back but maintaining the groove in his own familiar style.
reacquainted with his soul after the galactic battle with the gatekeeper of hades, edmx and his craft bulb into view from hyperdrive. emerging from an imperfect stasis, the pilot lay slumped over the controls of his ship. beneath the glaze of his vizor his eyes looked milky white, opaque cataracts had almost sealed them. the craft was being pulled slowly toward sigma orionis on invisible magnetic currents. flurries of dust danced around the pilots window like fireflies. in the far distance the horse head nebulae dwarfs the tiny craft with its mountainous cosmic majesty.

everybody likes doumen, but also everybody says >oh no ... i love doumen, but its hard to play their records in my dj sets or to have a party with them...<
so this is why we founded van doumen. it is a rework sublabel, completely based on original doumen material, following the idea of tracks that work in dj sets, but still have the doumen spirit. the first record was done by scherbe (uncanny valley, big bait, ..), philipp matalla (kann records, internasjonal spesial, ..), webermichelson (holger) and potensia (modern soul, ..). the first two tracks are superb club smashers, followed by an angry caricature monster of techno and finally potensia walks you home in the most intimate and beautiful way possible. to be honest, we say this record as a first step of van doumen is a classic already.
west midlands pair ultra knites touch down with the debut release on their own eponymously titled label. got to release has already been described as a future classic with its distinctive warm pads, vintage bassline and vocal hook while ny sleazd is the choice track for peak time dancefloor destruction. the b side takes things deeper underground providing variety with two more chord driven cuts, flanged synth stabs and harmonised basslines. all delivered on heavyweight 180g vinyl

vol.3 of vinyl sampler from sprinkles remix collection queerifications&ruins (mule musiq cd42). the remix for indie rock band ducktails is straight deep house sound than usual her style, but its definetly most clubby remix from sprinkles. it will be instant house classic! on the another side, the remix for adultnapper is already classic. its typical style of her house music.
lph whites second offering picks up where the first one, by waze & odyssey, left us. that 12inch featured a remix by london-by-way-of southern-california house up-and-comer, urulu, who produced all four of the tracks included on this ep. left coast is an ode to taylor freels home turf, but dont think its all blissed-out balearic burners one might listen to while rolling down a palm tree-lined stretch of the pacific coast highway. every one of the four songs is a cranked-up, high-octane, peak-hour monster
this release is an homage to idm, intelligent dance music, a movement perhaps much better than its name, but still the place of aphex twin and autechre.

eerie returns... presumably with quite a few more ears attuned after the assured success of the vox attitude remix package. but its back to the script on this one, with three original brand new tracks of marco shuttles work. a very hypnotic, deep, athmospheric record as you would expect from the shuttle at his best.
what a year for lake people so far. apart from several excellent releases and remixes, like his outstanding interpretation for chymeras classic >caprica burning<, the leipzig-based act is busy playing gigs around the globe. earlier this year, he had his first south-america tour, north america is following this summer. his lowkey and touching live-performances obviously work excellently. we are now more than happy to present the next lake people ep. four tracks, no remixes and each of them a pearl on its own. >into< goes a bit in the direction of his hit >point in time< on krakatau, while >stepwise< and >come over later< reminds of the timeless electronic approach of acid jesus or soylent green releases on klang elektonik
some two years in the making, glide time is the brand new studio album from is it balearic..? recordings head boys coyote. eight tracks deep, this album sees ampo and timm sure further perfect their approach to modern balearica, ambling from moments of incandescent calm such as the expansive opening track *california jam* and *feel beautiful* to euphoria inducing cuts like the chuggy *swimming* and acid tinged *break on through*. look out for the guitar playing skills of is it balearic...? stalwart max essa too. it is indeed time to glide. switch on and feel the new balearic beat at its best.
